Eat well without leaving the island on a plate

Resort dining should make an evening easier, not make Santorini feel generic. Pearl’s kitchen is at its strongest when it uses local produce simply and leaves room for the view.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:30am, with a continental buffet and cooked-to-order Greek dishes. Expect strained yoghurt, honey, seasonal fruit, tomatoes, local cheese, eggs and fresh bread. A made-to-order option is preferable to a large buffet if you have an excursion: eggs, fruit and coffee can be ready in about fifteen minutes when requested ahead.

Guests leaving for a boat trip should ask for a packed breakfast the night before. The useful version includes water, fruit, a savoury pastry and something that travels well; do not rely on a soft pastry in strong heat.

Dinner at the resort

The dinner menu should be read as modern Cycladic cooking rather than a comprehensive Greek menu. Typical pricing is €18–28 for starters, €28–42 for mains and €10–14 for dessert. A three-course dinner with wine usually lands around €75–110 per person. Local wines by the glass are a good way to try Assyrtiko, whose mineral acidity works well with seafood and grilled vegetables.

Order the daily fish only after asking its origin and price by weight. The kitchen can usually adapt dishes for vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, but communicate allergies when booking rather than at the table. A sunset tasting menu may require 24-hour notice and a deposit.

Eating beyond the property

For traditional tavern cooking, look toward inland villages such as Pyrgos or Megalochori, where prices are generally lower and the evening feels less view-driven. In Fira, expect more choice and more foot traffic. Oia is convenient for a special lunch but often carries a premium for its position.

Reserve popular restaurants, especially in July and August. Taxi supply becomes tight after sunset, so ask the concierge to arrange a return transfer. The best dining plan is one resort dinner, one village meal and one flexible lunch built around what you discover on the day.
