Which pool is right for your day?

The best pool is not necessarily the largest one. At Santorini Pearl, light, wind and the shape of the caldera make each water space feel different across the day.

The main infinity pool

The 18-metre infinity pool is the social centre of the resort. It faces west, catches strong afternoon sun and has a shallow ledge for lounging. Complimentary daybeds are allocated on a first-come basis, while the rear pergola provides welcome shade between noon and 3pm. Water is usually maintained around 27°C in the warmer months, although the meltemi wind can make exiting the pool feel cooler.

This is the right choice for swimming lengths, meeting other guests and seeing the caldera without paying for a private terrace. It is less suitable for complete silence. Families may use the shallow section, and the restaurant service passes nearby during lunch.

Plunge pools and spa water

Private plunge pools are approximately 2.5 by 4 metres and around 1.2 metres deep. They are designed for sitting, cooling down and enjoying the view, not vigorous swimming. Confirm whether heating is included: some rooms heat the water on request, while others remain naturally cool to reduce energy use. Wind screens improve comfort but can slightly interrupt the panorama.

The small spa pool is indoors and warmer, at roughly 34°C. It is useful on a windy day or after walking the caldera trail, but access may be limited to scheduled sessions. A ten-minute booking is usually enough for recovery without making the spa feel crowded.

Timing and practical details

For quiet, use the infinity pool before breakfast or after 5pm, when day visitors have left the surrounding viewpoints. For the clearest water colour, late morning is strongest. Towels are supplied from a cabinet beside reception; bring sandals because volcanic paving becomes hot.

Pool access is generally included for residents, but loungers cannot be reserved overnight. Children should be supervised around infinity edges, and guests with limited mobility should request a room near the lift: several terraces are reached by steps.

The trade-off is simple: choose the main pool for space and movement, a plunge pool for privacy, and the spa pool for warmth. Booking the most expensive room only makes sense if you expect to use that private water every day.
